How You Too Can Be a Social Misfit
Funny. I didn’t start this way and I probably won’t end up this way. I’m going through an “awkward” stage, ya know like a gawky teenager that just doesn’t fit in correctly.
I used to be the life of the party and on some level I still am. But while everyone else is partying, I’m sitting here watching Two and Half Men and Sex and the City, every night same bad time, same bad channel.
Does this happen to other people? Or is my breakthrough as a misfit a complete anomaly?
This isn’t really about partying, it’s about finding your niche. Which I know everyone wants somehow in some way.
After a few broken hearts and failed friendships it’s hard to find where you fit in.
Harder to make yourself fit in. Even harder to watch it all go by.
well, I’m a better actress now that I was before. Unfortunately that’s not my thing.
Hopefully someone out there knows my struggle, on second thought I hope not, I don’t wish this on anyone……….

You Know It’s Time to Leave Ikea When….
Ikea reigns as the God of furniture stores. Well maybe that’s stretching things just a little. Ikea is the store for cheap college students and young professionals trying to achieve that contemporary feel with the money left over after buying rounds of martinis at the bar.
How I love Ikea. But you know it’s time to leave when you see a familiar face. Especially when it’s one you thought you’d never see again
Keep reading and I’ll tell you how I found myself fleeing from Ikea and what it means for all of us. Read more »
Let Me Tell You The Secret of Why I’m the Only One For You
Besides the fact that Melissa Etheridge is singing it on the radio right now. But that’s a side issue. We’re really not even talking about me and you because that notion is so absurd it makes pigs flying seem possible. Just stick with me here.
It’s only fear that makes you run.
True statement. (and a good lyric) But what exactly are you and me and all of us afraid of? Read more »
If You Don’t Speak Up Now You’ll Be Eating Your Regret Later
If I had a magic wand the first thing I would do is create clear communication between the sexes. Alright, after I create world peace. There’s always that relationship that is there, but not quite there. If you haven’t had it yet, hold on it’ll find you. You have perfect chemistry, you enjoy each others company, your friend’s love him, but for some reason he’s still eyeing every other girl in sight.
Sigh.
My fool proof advice, Speak now or forever hold your peace. Read more »

Reaching Out and Holding On
I’m still on that music kick that I was on yesterday and I was sitting here doing some work when the song Run Around by Blues Traveler came on the radio. It’s not as if I don’t hear this song all the time but something tripped my trigger when I heard it today. In fact it was a certain line that did me in. In the end of the second verse the lyrics are as follows:
“But I want more than a touch, I want you to reach me
And show me all the things no one else can see
So what you feel becomes mine as well
And soon if we’re lucky we’d be unable to tell
What’s yours and mine the fishing’s fine
And it doesn’t have to rhyme so don’t you feed me a line” Read more »
Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans…….
Well, before we all have a John Lennon sing a long let’s get back to business. Blush has been my pet project for the better half of a year now. Since it started on blogger and now moved here to wordpress it’s been a challenge and a delight. I’m not closing down this site, I’ve just been consumed with more writing tasks plus the rapid approach of classes beginning. So for anyone who is still reading this, I’m going to attempt to keep this site going, at least in some aspect. I also will be starting a new blog to detail all of my new adventures. Thank you to everyone who has visited Blush and please check back for updates and for direction to my new project.
